Thank you Michael

This is a post mostly for Michael and RoCherra, but thought some others might like to see it.  Amanda had to do a book report that involved making a cereal box diorama.  Her book was The Giver by Lois Lowry.  She printed her scenery pictures from the internet, but she couldn't find a picture that represented the main character.  We asked auntie RoCherra and cousin Michael to take a few different action shots and the one Amanda used was perfect.  Thanks Michael and auntie RoCherra for helping Amanda get an A+ on her book report.

P.S. In this book, the world was in black and white only - so that is the reason for the black and white diorama.

Sister's Day

Sister's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in August.  Did you know that?  I didn't know that until Amanda and Alayna told me!  Happy Sister's Day to my 5 sisters!  I love each one of you!

Also, happy Sister's Day to my three special sister-in-laws and friends that are like sisters!!

A very special Grandpa and Great-Grandpa

We will miss him and Grandma very much!

This is how I will always remember him - lots of conversations with him sitting in his leather recliner!

Inside-out backwards PJs

If you were wondering about Alayna's inside-out backwards PJs - there is a superstition in the school that there will be a snow day from school if you wear your PJs inside-out backwards and flush the toilet at 9pm.  So far it has worked 3 times - we are off school again today!  : )

Snowy days

Things are pretty white around here since the weekend.  We got about 5 inches of snow on Saturday.  Some of it melted on Sunday and Monday.  This morning we got another 6 inches.  Early release (1 hour) on Friday, no school on Tuesday and we already have a 2 hour delay for Wednesday.

Snow throwing - couldn't really make snow balls!
I took the kids sledding at the community park near our house.  It was a lot of fun!  I even went sledding, but for some reason my bones did a lot of jarring and creaking. : )  Some kids were out on their snowboards - I almost asked to borrow it to see if I could still snowboard.  Maybe I just need to get the girls one!

Making snow cream
sugar, milk
vanilla
clean fresh snow!
Yummy, yummy!
